Also known as a Virtual Dedicated Server divides server resources into virtual servers, where resources can be allocated in a way that does not directly reflect the underlying hardware. The users may have root access to their own virtual space.
Customers are sometimes responsible for patching and maintaining the server (unmanaged server) or the VPS provider may provide server admin tasks for the customer (managed server).
Cloud hosting
This is a new type of hosting platform that allows customers powerful, scalable and reliable hosting based on clustered load-balanced servers and utility billing.
A cloud hosted website may be more reliable than alternatives since other computers in the cloud can compensate when a single piece of hardware goes down.
Alternatively, the lack of centralization may give users less control on where their data is located which could be a problem for users with data security or privacy concerns.

If you are going to get tons of traffic with extensive use of resources, then cloud hosting or VPS is recommended. But a beginner is not supposed to get such huge traffic initially and also you might have tight budget.

This is the amount of data that transfers each month every time your website loads. When visitor open your site, it consumes bandwidth for loading all the contents in your site. The more content (images, texts, animations, videos etc) in your site has, more bandwidth it requires to load.
Majority of the hosting company caps on the amount of bandwidth your site use. Some even company also depicts their bandwidth as unlimited but that’s not the fact. Your site will down if you exceed your monthly limit.
But by optimizing your site (using few images, medium quality image, keeping your page simple etc), you can handle lots of traffic even within the capped bandwidth.
Number of sites
The very basic plans of almost all the hosting services give you the ability to host only single website. But i will recommend to go with multiple site plan. This way you can host multiple websites on the same resource and make more profits.
